It's a big one for Michael! He turns 40 on January 5th! If you get a minute, send him an e-mail and congratulate him on "officially" getting old!

Back to Blogging and I Graduated!
So after almost a year, I'm back to blogging. Still have mixed feelings about doing it . . . We'll see how it goes now that I have more time to blog instead of school.
Now, the BIG news . . . It's finally done! It's hard to believe but I did it! The 19th of December I walked through commencement at ASU. It's embarassing it took 18 years but I can tell you it was worth it!
We have all made our New Year's resolutions at the Holdaway house and look forward to a new year filled with worthy goals we hope to make some headway on! Here's just a few:
Michael is determined to run another marathon in May in Prescott.
I'm going to train for the 10K.
Ashley is going to finish Personal Progress and get her medallion.
Kendon is going to get to the rank of Star by his October birthday.
Ellie is going to focus on the violin.
Now everyone can keep track and ask us about our progress!

It's Growing, It's Growing!
Our garden is growing and we are so excited to go out everyday and see the new plants coming up. We're keeping our fingers crossed they will continue to do well and we'll actually be able to eat something out of it!
Didn't Michael do such a great job with the brick?!

Spring has sprung!
Well, we are at the end of our spring break but it was definitely not a break. We finished our garden after several loads of dirt from our good friends, the Gurney's, farmhouse and then we added organic topsoil and planted. We have cilantro, basil, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, watermelon and spinach planted. We'll see how it goes here in hot AZ.
We also finished our yard work and turned the spare bedroom into a make-shift pantry (after cleaning, painting, organizing) to store our 90 day supply of food as well as our long-term storage of wheat and such. The kids worked so hard and I heard Ashley say it'll be nice to go back to school and "rest" - sad but true. Michael spent his week off working too.
The kids go back to school this week with only 9 more weeks of school left. I'm excited and sad at the same time. Excited they'll be home for summer but sad I'll have a freshman in high school at Perry, a 5th grader and a 1st grader! They are all doing excellent and we are so proud.
I'm still hard at work with school - no spring break for me but at least I am done with midterms.
